The Nishino Breathing Method (or "Nishino" for short), a groundbreaking technique, was developed independently by its founder, Kōzō Nishino (1926-2021). It is based on his personal experiences and inspirations from Western medicine and ballet, as well as Eastern martial arts. Since the establishment of Nishino Juku, the main training center for the Nishino Breathing Method, in 1985, over a million people, including foreign visitors, have attended the training. They range from beginners to long-time practitioners with over thirty years of experience, including some nearly centenarians who still practice enthusiastically.
Nishino differs from other breathing techniques in its inherent simplicity. Compared to traditional or ascetic practices, which usually require years of rigorous training, Nishino provides an approach to immediately begin experiencing and cultivating the Ki energy or life force. The more one engages in the practice, the deeper the understanding and appreciation becomes, leading to increased comfort and a deeper experience. The essence of Nishino lies in "building a powerful life and future with one's own strength through proper practice." After training, there is an incomparable sense of fulfillment and enrichment of life, making Nishino a unique and valuable practice.
The Nishino Method Headquarters, the official heir of the Nishino breathing method, was established in August 2022 in Shibuya, the birthplace of the technique. to spread the Nishino breathing method throughout Japan and worldwide. The headquarters is committed to further spreading the Nishino breathing method throughout Japan and the world.
